( 3 / 154 )Here are some more current photos. We are coming to an end and I should be finished this weekend. The rest of the doors are getting painted during then week after work and some molding still needs to be stained and installed. Overall, I see a light at the end of the tunnel. In about a week I will give a photo tour on this website.
Did some house cleaning this weekend to get the dust off of everything in the upper level of the house. Loaded up the pickup truck with all the junk ripped out. Garbage drop off is this weekend and is perfect timing.
The whole house is coming back together instead of stuff laying all around. Really wish I had a wood workshop.

( 3 / 152 )The last three days have been a rush to paint. I would like to be done mostly next weekend. There are still a lot of minor things. I tried using the paint sprayer in the garage and I didn't like the way the cabinet doors were coming out. So much that I got a little bit in a bad mood yesterday. So I moved the painting booth into the dining area of the kitchen. Less dust and not if I can keep the cats out of the room, I won't have cat hair in the paint too. So, I have decided to REMAKE the cabinet doors out of real OAK wood sometime this fall or next winter. The painted doors are just not coming out to my liking but we will have to live with it for a while. The pictures below show what they look like hung up. I will have to take these down and remove the hardware to repaint them because I'm not satisfied with the way they look with the current paint job. Will have to sand them down and repaint them. Made the other windowsill from oak for the window in the dining area today. There's a lot of down time with painting because of waiting for the paint to dry. Here a re some updated photos:

This is what the molding looks like. This will eventually be around the whole upstairs along with the wood floors next winter.

( 3.1 / 144 )Installed the drawers I made last week. They came out great. I wouldn't call it quality work but they will suffice. The sliders I got for them (bought on the internet) are very strong. They can hold 100 pounds. They installed a lot faster than I thought. Good thing because this weekend is touch up paint and installed oak molding. Really getting down to the wire. Painting the cabinet doors is on the agenda for this weekend too but we need to clean house because we are getting company staying over for two weeks and there coming from Britain. Here's a picture of todays work. The larger drawers are for pots and pans. Donna is already decorating with carpets.

( 3 / 70 )So I alloted a whole weekend (three days) for installing the floor and that's how long it took. The wood floor will be expanded into the rest of the first floor this coming fall but for now it will be in the kitchen only. LOOKS GREAT!! Donna's favorite part she says. I guess it beats the diamond shape tiles over the butcher block.
So I'm planning on two more weekends which includes working on the weekdays in between. There's just a lot of little things to be done. Istalling painted homemade doors and installing the lower slide out drawers for pots and pans and the pantry.
