( 3 / 59 )Ok, the sanding is done and the painting begins. Pictures tomorrow of the kitchen at the end of the day. I sprayed the orange peel on the soffits to match the current ceiling and it looks great. Priming everything tomorrow and the real color paint maybe one day after work this week. I will be spraying everything with a spray gun. It's been slow going even on the days off since I have to wait for the joint compound and orange peel to dry between coats. I've been waiting 24hrs between coats. There should be dramatic changes and I'll take a lot of photos in the coming two weeks.
Oh yeah, also bought the wood floor and received (from the internet) the floor staple gun to install it. Shoots two inch staples into the wood with a compressor. So the schedule should go like this the next few weeks.
This week - Primer paint on cabinets and soffits.
Next week - Real paint color on the cabinets. Glue/nail down plywood for counter top and maybe install tile.
Third week - Frame out the entire kitchen with oak trim
Fourth week - Create/Make and paint cabinet doors and drawers.
Fifth week - Install lighting and new oak wooden blinds.
So I'm planning on another three to four weeks and we have to take a 4 day trip to New York in between the weeks

( 3.1 / 43 )Waiting for warmer weather for painting primer over everything. So it's slow going this week after work every day. One more coat of joint compound and sanding and the soffits and walls will be ready for paint (2hrs of work). Friday is my day off and it's suppose to be 60 degrees. So I'll be able to open the windows for the paint spraying. It should be a dramatic change this weekend. Photos will be posted Sunday (2-10-2008).

( 2.8 / 47 )In between the small jobs I've been sanding and sanding and sanding and putting on joint compound all over the ceiling <grin> It's looking good so far. Just takes a while and not my favorite job. Dust is everywhere even when I've got the plastic hanging.
The pot filler faucet ($200) come by fedex yesterday and it's a solid piece of mettle. That took up most of today. Photos are below. Had to go into the basement ceiling to install the plumbing. I decided to go with CPVC made for drinking water because I hate soldering copper pipe. I even found a snap on fitting to go from copper to cpvc which made the job a lot easier. Amazing, so far no leaks!! We'll see when we start using the pot filler to check for leaks. I'll be running downstairs for the next two days checking the pipes for leaks. I hate that. <grin>
