Day 63-64 - Staining, painting, tear down wall.

Last few days have been a big change or accomplishment. Staining wood and drawers and painting the new home made cabinet doors. So far it looks great. Today I tore down the small wall. Donna walked in from going out and was shocked how big it made the dining area. Looks great and a little Sheetrock work will make it look fine. The reason I tore down the wall is because this weekend is the wood floor installation. Take a look at the photos from the past few days. The large drawers on the table that are stained are for the home made roll out drawers for pots and pans as well as the pantry cabinet.









Uno is asking where did the wall go. Something looks different.

Have not posted in a while but I've been cutting wood all week. Making the doors and the drawers. Will post photos in about a day or two.

Days 52,53,54 - Still finishing

Still at it!! <grin> Molding is done and installed refrige in it's final resting place as well as the butcher block. Some of the molding is made from scratch and the rest was bought. The only molding left is around the big light on the ceiling. Final paint and touch up on the moulding (filling in nail holes) will be done and the top doors are already cut. There's a snowstorm coming in tonite so I won't be painting the doors outside with the sprayer. Thinking about making a painting both with plastic walls in the garage with an electric heater. I would say about two to three more weeks including wood floor install. It's almost done!

Days 49,50,51 - Finished tile

The last few days have been tidying up odds and ends. Paint the soffits and ceiling white, finished tile in the entire place, touch up of cabinets for final paint and today will cut the new shelves for the cabinets. Here's the current photo of the latest.

day 48 - Fancy tile

Installed fancy tile today over the butcher block. Was leaving this for last because I new it would be a pain. Tried to lay this out without cutting much tile but it was futile. The edge tiles have to be cut and we were also short one tile around the outside of the inside tiles. Back to the store... again. Here's a quick photo. Should finish this up tomorrow.
